12 Days of Christmas - Day 11 - Christmas Eve

"And there were in the same country shepherds, abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them! And they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, “Fear not! For, behold, I bring you tidings o great joy, which shall be to all my people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ, the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you: Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.” And suddenly, there was with the angel a multitude of the Heavenly Host praising God, and saying, “Glory to God in the Highest, and on Earth peace, and good will toward men."

There is so much going on during this time of year, heck during the whole year. It can be so easy to get caught up in your own life and your own problems, speaking for myslef. During Christmas it feels like there is so much to do. Weather it is fun things like presents and cookies and Christmas break or if it's stressful things you feel like you NEED to get done. I think one of the things that is often left behind is what it's truly all about. There is so much more to this holiday and all the amazing fun and festive things are amazing and everything but it can be important not to get caught up in them. So just as you are celebrating this holiday don't forget how it all started and the great sacrifice that has been made for you.
