October Wrap up and November TBR

Starting off with the books I finished last month. For a girl with hardly any free time and ton of things I need to get done I managed to read quite a few books this month. Sometimes you just gotta forgo sleep and read instead. (Only joking..sort of)

First Book I finished was the Titan's Curse which is the third book in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series by Rick Riordan. I loved this book which I knew I would based on my enjoyment from the first two Percy Jackson books. I loved how in this book you got to know Thalia better and I loved all the scenes with the Huntresses and especially Zoe Nightshade. I found the introduction of new character was a great addition however I did miss Tyson throughout this book.
Second book was The Battle of the Labyrinth the forth book in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan. I've already expressed my love for Percy Jackson in this post however I think that this book is probably my least favorite out of the five books in this series. That by no means that it wasn't a great book it just for me wasn't as good as the others. I am not the hugest fan of Rachael Elizabeth Dare( most likely because I adore Annabeth) and I think that was part of why I felt less invested in this story. I did however like the character development of Nico throughout this book.
War Games by Audrey and Akila Couloumbis was so much better then I expected. I picked it up because I was at the library and looking for a shorter read to read while I was waiting for a different book but I ended up loving it. It's based on a true story about a family more specifically the boys in the family in Greece during world war two. I found it really interesting because admittedly I wasn't really aware of the impact the war had on Greek families. The beginning of the book was slightly slow paced and I struggled to get in to it but once I hit the middle I couldn't put it down  I really loved the character Petros and his boyish charms and sense of adventure through out the story. Also after reading the blip in the back about the authors and his family being what the book was based on made me like it even more.
The last book in the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series by Rick Riordan was the next book I read. We get it Paisley you like Percy Jackson. This book for me felt different from the others in the series, still amazing but such a large portion of the book takes place during the battle so it lacked some of the adventure aspects that were in the other books in the series. The beginning felt so fast paced leading up to the battle in NY, and then once all of that went down it slowed down. Finishing a series is always a sad feeling but lucky for me there are more Percy Jackson books.
This book is a collection of novellas, prequel stories about Celaena  Sardothien in the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas. It was weird going back and reading from Celaena after reading the four books in the series and going back to her character after how much she has developed. There were five short stories and the first three were good but I wasn't really captured by the characters like I was while reading the last two. I adored Sam his connection with Celaena  was so real and it was so interesting to be able to read between the two of them and have more then just the references about Sam and the Assassins Keep. I do wish I had read this book before reading the forth in the series so I would highly recommend doing that if you have read the first three and are wondering if you should read Queen of Shadows or this first.

Such an interesting read. I picked up this book honestly because the cover was so pretty, HA. And I liked it so much. Nova Ren Suma's writing is so thoughtful and beautiful and I really felt connected from both perspectives and both girls. Being someone who takes ballet I could frightenly relate to some parts of Violet. (Not the crazy parts just the aspect of being in the ballet world)
I loved how you grew to really love Amber and the entire girl's in Arora Hills. The best part of the book was how you really didn't know what happened or what was going one till the last pages and because of that I couldn't put the book down. So many questions and twists and turns. Highly recommend if you like things that are a little different and out there.
